Sevenoaks may take in its first Syrian refugee family after campaigning from residents over the last few weeks.

A district council housing committee met last night (February 28) to discuss making a vacant six-bedroom house in Eynsford available to resettle a Syrian family in need.

This move comes after
hundreds of people signed a petition asking Sevenoaks District Council to promise to provide at least one of these families a home in the next five years.
