A mum and daughter duo who starred in Hollyoaks and Shameless are opening an acting academy in Sevenoaks.

Dannielle Malone, best known for playing Kelly Saunders, and Tina Malone, who shot to fame with her role as Mimi Maguire, are bringing their ‘dynamic drama classes’ to Sevenoaks.

The pair will be holding workshops in St John the Baptist Church in Quaker’s Hall Lane after successfully teaching in London, Manchester and Italy.

Drama classes will begin on September 22, taking place from 5.30pm to 6.20pm for children aged 7-11.

For children between the ages of 11 and 14, workshops will be held from 6.30pm to 7:20pm.

Dannielle trained at Guildford School of Acting and has worked extensively in film, television and theatre.

She said: “When a child grows in confidence in a nurturing environment, this has a huge impact in all areas of their life and education.

“We work on improvisation, texts, devising, stage technique, theatre sports, confidence building, audition technique and acting to camera.

“Resulting in performances in wonderful productions of ensemble pieces were every child has their moment to shine.”

Having 15 years’ experience in teaching and directing, she’s excited about bringing her talents to the town.

Youngsters will be able to take part in productions of hit musicals such as the Wizard of Oz and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Dannielle sampled a taste of the county when she starred in her national tour of a one woman show, 51 Shades of Maggie which opened at The Orchard in Dartford.
