One of the busiest roads into Sevenoaks had to be closed for more than 90 minutes after a crash involving a bus this morning (Tuesday, November 21).

Police were called to the A25 Westerham Road in Riverhead at 6.25am to reports the bus had collided with a lamp post close to Worships Hill.

A police spokesman said there were no other vehicles involved and confirmed nobody was injured in the incident.

Kent Highways said: “A25 Westerham Road partially blocked in both directions between B2042 Cold Arbor Road and A21/M25 junction.

“This is following an earlier RTC, which has resulted in a fallen telegraph pole. Kent Police were in attendance. Expect delays in the area and allow extra time for your journey.”

The road was reopened at around 8am and traffic levels in the area have now returned to normal.
